I used Caron Simply soft (thicker yarns dont look or lay as nice)

half shell: 2dc ch 1

Shell: 2 dc, ch1, 2 dc

For Size 4/5 Toddler

Chain 95 Join to form ring. Becareful to not twist.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in same stitch, sc in each stitch around: 95 total

Rnd2: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around: 95 total

Rnd3: Ch 3, dc in each stitch around: 95 total

Rnd4: Ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2 dc in same stitch, ch 1,** skip 2 stitches, 2 dc, ch 1 in next stitch. skip 1 stitch, 2 dc, ch 1 in next stitch ** repeat from ** to** for a total of 18 half shells. Shell in next stitch, than repeat with half shells alternating with skipping 2 stitches and 2 stitch in between each around(18 half shells) Join: total of 36 half shells and 2 shells

Rnd 5 thru 16 : slip stitch to center of shell, ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2dc in same stitch, ***ch 1, 2 dc in next ch 1 space*** Repeat around to shell and do a full shell in the full shell. than continue with pattern.

Rnd 17: slip stitch to center of shell, Ch 2, dc, ch 1, 2dc in ch 1 sp.** ch 1, 2dc in next ch 1 sp ** repeat till after you have done 8- 1/2 shells Now

skip 13 shells(armhole) 2dc,ch 1 in next ch 1 sp into the 14th space after you have skipped the 13-1/2 shells repeat to center shell, do full shell again** Repeat from** to last shell, join..

Rnd 18 thru 25: Repeat pattern

Rnd 26: do half shells all around, join fasten off

Join yarn to sleeve opening. Sc in each stitch around.(46sc)

Rnd 2 ch 1, sc in each stitch around(46sc)

Rnd3: ch 1, sc in each stitch around.(46sc) Fasten off

Repeat on other sleeve.

Add Fringe to bottom

For the tie: Ch 90 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each across. Fasten off

ch 4, slip stitch in first ch to form ring, (ch 4, tr, slip stitch) in ring 6 times. Ch 1, fasten off. Pull end of neck tie through center of flower, sew flower to neck tie. Repeat for other flower. Find the center of your tie and sew it to the middle of round 4 of the shawl. Tie into a bow and tack the bow into place.

Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2dc into same stitch,ch1 **skip 2 st, 2 dc, ch 1 into next space, skip 1 stitch, 2dc ch 1 in next, skip 2 ** repeat from**to ** for total of 22 1/2 shells. Than you will do 2dc, ch1, 2 dc into next stitch, skip 1, 2 dc, ch1 into next, skip 2. Repeating the skipping 2 stitches or 1 stitch pattern..

Total of 44 1/2 shells 2 full shells

Rnd 5:slip stitch to ch 1 sp. ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2 dc into space, 2dc ch 1 into each space around. Do full shell into next shell, repeat- 46 1/2 shells 2 full

Rnd 6-20: repeat rnd 5

Rnd 21: Sleeve Section

slip stitch into ch 1 sp. do full shell, do a total of 11 1/2 shells than you will skip a total of 16 half shells for your arm opening. You will than do the 1/2 shell into the 17th space after the 16th half shell skipped. Continue pattern to the center full shell. Than you will do 11 1/2 shells again and repeat for next sleeve..

Rnd 22 slip stitch into ch 1 sp, do full shell, 1/2 shells into each ch 1 space. In the arm hole you will do a 1/2 shell ch1. Repeat around

Rnd 23- 33 Repeat round 5

Rnd 34: in each ch 1 sp you will do 1/2 shells.. tie off and sew in ends

Edging around sleeves:

Sc in each stitch around

Rnd 2 ch 1, sc in each stitch around

Rnd3: ch 1, sc in each stitch around. Fasten off

Repeat on other sleeve.

Add fringe to bottom.

For tie follow steps on size 4/5

Infant Poncho Sweater

Size 12/15 months

1 skein of redheart Baby soft

small amount of contrasting color for flower

Chain76 Join to form ring. Becareful to not twist.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in same stitch, sc in each stitch around: 76 total

Rnd2: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around: 76 total

Rnd3: Ch 3, dc in each stitch around: 76 total

Rnd4: Ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2 dc in same stitch, ch 1,** skip 2 stitches, 2 dc, ch 1 in next stitch. skip 1 stitch, 2 dc, ch 1 in next stitch ** repeat from ** to** for a total of 14 half shells. Shell in next stitch, than repeat with half shells alternating with skipping 2 stitches and 2 stitch in between each around(14half shells) Join: total of 28 half shells and 2 shells

Rnd 5 thru 13 : slip stitch to center of shell, ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2dc in same stitch, ***ch 1, 2 dc in next ch 1 space*** Repeat around to shell and do a full shell in the full shell. than continue with pattern.

ARM HOLE SECTION

Rnd 14: slip stitch to center of shell, Ch 2, dc, ch 1, 2dc in ch 1 sp.** ch 1, 2dc in next ch 1 sp ** repeat till after you have done 6- 1/2 shells Now

skip 6 shells(armhole) 2dc,ch 1 in next ch 1 sp into the 14th space after you have skipped the 6-1/2 shells repeat to center shell, do full shell again** Repeat from** to last shell, join..

Rnd 15 thru 22: Repeat pattern

Rnd 23: For scallop slip stitch to ch 1 space, ch 3 than do 4 more dc in same space. **Sc in next ch 1 space, 5 dc in next ch 1 space** repeat from ** to** join to top of the chain 3. Fasten off.

Join yarn to sleeve opening. Sc in each stitch around.

Rnd 2 ch 1, sc in each stitch around

Rnd3: ch 1, sc in each stitch around. Fasten off

Repeat on other sleeve.

For the flower: (Make 2, one for poncho one for hat)

Ch 4, join with a slip stitch

ch 1, sc in ring, ch 3, sc in ring, ch 3 doing this with a total of 6 ch 3 spaces..

slip stitch into the first ch 3 space, ch1, sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc all in the same space.. Repeat this into each ch 3 space..

First row of petals made

Slip stitch from the back into the sc from the first row.. Ch 5, sc around the next sc on the first row. Repeat with a total of 6 loops

slip stitch into the first space, ch 1, sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc in space..

Repeat around in each chain 5 space..

Join and fasten off

Sew onto poncho on round 4 in the center...

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same stitch, **1 dc in next, 2 dc in next** repeat around (36dc)

Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same stitch, ** 1 dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next** repeat around (48dc)

Rnd 5: Ch3, dc in same stitch, ch 1** skip 1 stitch,ch 1, 2 dc in next stitch, ch 1** repeat around.

Rnd 6-12: slip stitch into the chain 1 space, chain 3, 1 dc in same space, ch 1, ** 2 dc in next ch 1 space, ch 1** Repeat around

Rnd 13-15 sc in each stitch around. Fasten off

Sew on flower to hat

Than you will do 2dc, ch1, 2 dc into next stitch, skip 1, 2 dc, ch1 into next, skip 2. Repeating the skipping 2 stitches or 1 stitch pattern..

Total of 40 1/2 shells 2 full shells

Rnd 5:slip stitch to ch 1 sp. ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2 dc into space, 2dc ch 1 into each space around. Do full shell into next shell, repeat- 44 1/2 shells 2 full

Rnd 6-18: repeat rnd 5

Rnd 19: Sleeve Section

slip stitch into ch 1 sp. do full shell, do a total of 11 1/2 shells than you will skip a total of 15 half shells for your arm opening. You will than do the 1/2 shell into the 16th space after the 15th half shell skipped. Continue pattern to the center full shell. Than you will do 10 1/2 shells again and repeat for next sleeve..

Rnd 20 slip stitch into ch 1 sp, do full shell, 1/2 shells into each ch 1 space. In the arm hole you will do a 1/2 shell ch1. Repeat around

Rnd 21- 27 Repeat round 5

Edging around sleeves:

Sc in each stitch around

Rnd 2 ch 1, sc in each stitch around

Rnd3: ch 1, sc in each stitch around. Fasten off

Repeat on other sleeve.

Add fringe to bottom. or if you want you can do the scallop edge like the 12/15 months.. Follow those instructions

For tie follow steps on size 4/5

or for flower follow steps on size 12/15 months
